Does not have to be! <strong>Spain<\/strong> was founded back in 1993 by Josh Haden, bassist and singer. Their music has often been described as <em>&#8220;Indie Pop Slowcore Americana Free Jazz&#8221;<\/em>. The band is best known for their debut album <strong>The Blue Moods Of Spain<\/strong>, as well as their song <strong>Spiritual<\/strong>, which was reinterpreted by <strong>Johnny Cash<\/strong> on his album <strong>Unchained<\/strong>. Director <strong>Wim Wenders<\/strong> used the music of the Californian quartet in the soundtrack of his film <strong>Am Ende der Gewalt<\/strong>. <strong>Uncut Magazine<\/strong> wrote at the time:      <em>&#8220;Of all the melancholy slowcore bands of the 1990s, Spain were one of the most inventive: an unselfconscious, blues-tickled LA group who regularly sound like Spiritualized crossed with a cool jazz quartet.
