meet soulful-hippiesque vocals and trip-hop beats, creating a mix of desert blues, indie, hippie rock, psychedelia and electronica. The Dutch-New Zealand trio around frontwoman <strong>Cato van Dijck<\/strong> was formed in Amsterdam in 2012. Cato, her brother Sheik and Daniel Johnston released their debut album &#8220;Loves Voodoo!&#8221; in 2013, followed by countless performances at Glastonbury, Lowlands and Sziget Festival, among others. It didn&#8217;t take long for <strong>MY BABY<\/strong> to captivate fans and critics alike. Even the critical English press was quick to agree that MY BABY would have a bright future: &#8220;Psychedelic tapestries of sounds&#8221; was how Clash Magazine described the sound, Q Magazine headlined &#8220;acid-fried country stompers that will haunt your dreams for weeks&#8221;. In 2015, the follow-up &#8220;Shamanaid&#8221; was released and MY BABY played over 200 shows in that year alone, including South Africa, New Zealand, USA, UK and Germany.
