Andrea Schroeder is an exception among German singers. A song poet whose voice is just as captivating as her lyrical, often melancholic lyrics. With “Where The Wild Oceans End” the Berliner released her second album at the end of January 2014, which – just like her debut album “Blackbird” (2013) – drew feuilleton and music critics into veritable storms of enthusiasm: “A mix of folk and chanson, Blues, rock and art songs come together in a sensational debut,” wrote the Musikexpress, Radio Eins called it “a dark album in a class of its own,” Rolling Stone described their second work as a “powerful album full of drama and melancholy, somewhere between Leonard Cohen and Scott Walker , Nick Cave and Nico”.

After sold-out concerts e.g. with the Babelsberg Film Orchestra and acclaimed festival performances last summer, the Berlin artist’s new, third album “Void” will be released on August 27, 2016 on Glitterhouse Records, followed by an extensive tour in winter 2016. “Where The Wild Oceans End” was Produced by Walkabout’s mastermind Chris Eckman, he was replaced by Ulf Ivarsson (Thåström, Sivert Höyem), who produced “Void” in collaboration with Andrea Schroeder and Jesper Lehmkuhl. Victor Van Vugt, who has worked with exceptional artists such as Nick Cave, Sonic Youth, P.J. Harvey, Einfallende Neubauten or Mick Harvey worked. “Void” was recorded in Berlin and Stockholm in spring 2016. In addition to Andrea Schroeder‘s band, which consists of Jesper Lehmkuhl, Dave Allen, Catherine Graindorge, Mike Strauss and Maurizio Vitale, the album also features special guest musicians such as Kristof Hahn (Swans) and Pelle Ossler (Ossler, Thåström, Sällskapet) again.
