The first sign of life of Wovenhand appeared a good 14 years ago with the self-titled album. It was a time when 16 Horsepower still existed, but when the three core members – bassist Pascal Humbert and drummer Jean-Yves Tolà, in addition to David Eugene Edwards – had already drifted apart and in the same year delivered “Folklore”, their darkly glowing, most intense and radical album as their last studio collaboration. Edwards’ former solo project has long since emerged from the long shadow of 16 Horsepowers and has now released 8 albums. Wovenhand’s ninth album, titled “Star Treatment”, will be released on September 09 on Glitterhouse Records (EU) in cooperation with Sargent House (US), the band’s US management and label.

A good two years have passed since “Refractory Obdurate”, which was celebrated by press and fans alike, and 11 new songs have been released for “Star Treatment“emerged. Songs that in their intensity in today’s rock context are looking for their equal and have lost nothing of the magic and hypnotism of a Wovenhand song despite all the hardness and heaviness, on the contrary. Who after “Refractory Obdurate” was of the opinion that there could be no more increase, will be surprised.

The soul, face and head of Wovenhand is David Eugene Edwards, one of the most impressive guitarist/singers, songwriters and lyricists of our time, who has influenced and inspired countless musicians and artists over the past two decades through his work in Wovenhand and 16 Horsepower. You canot describe this band in words. Their sound is an organic spider web of neo-folk, post-rock, alt-country, punk, metal, industrial and alternative rock. All in one produces the base for David’s expression and spiritual experience of self. Sometimes sad and introverted, sometimes angry and of incredible force, Wovenhand is always an unforgettable spiritual and sound-aesthetic experience.

The fall shows will engage audiences with their sheer intensity: with Edwards captivating listeners, his loud guitars and driving percussion, a Wovenhand concert is one of the most intense musical experiences currently available. A powerful web of gothic Americana, neo-folk, punk, alternative country and psychedelic.
