Story

„The best thing I’ve seen since The Pixies opened for My Bloody Valentine on their first tour in Britain“ – John Bramwell (I Am Kloot)

Founded in 2010 in Esslingen as a noisy lo-fi duo, DIE NERVEN, after various singles, EPs and download albums, finally released Fluidum, their first physical album on Fin Du Monde/This Charming Man Records in 2012. In 2014, the unanimously acclaimed successor Fun was released – and was described by Jan Wigger of Spiegel Online as “one of the most important and best German-language records of this decade”.. Julian Knoth, Max Rieger and Kevin Kuhn are “perhaps the best German trio since Trio” knows the Wiener Standard. They played festivals like Roskilde (DK), Melt!, Appletree-Garden, Sziget (HUN) and Eurosonic (NL), plus an Israel tour, and were the first German-language band to release on the style-defining US label Amphetamine Reptile Records. Christian Ihle (taz) calls the band “best live band in the country”!In October 2015 DIE NERVEN or “the worst-tempered rock band this country has to offer at the moment”. (DIE ZEIT) released their third album OUT via Glitterhouse Records and went on an extensive tour through Europe.

Now follows with Live in Europe on 16/06/2017 finally the first live album on vinyl. 15 songs, including “Barfuß durch die Scherben”, “Angst” and the Joy Division cover “No Love Lost”. Produced by Ralv Milberg together with Max Rieger, the vinyl was cut at Duophonic.

“Our tour in November and December 2015 for the release of our album OUT, led us with 27 concerts through 7 countries. Concerts with 600 visitors were followed by one with only 15 the day after. We didn’t think it was that great at the time, but in retrospect everything seems totally right, just the way it was. A crazy journey and a complete success, marked by euphoric concerts and enthusiastic fans, but also by the numerous hours spent between rest stops, highways and backstage rooms. When we started recording LIVE IN EUROPA, we already had three weeks of madness behind us. So LIVE IN EUROPA is also more or less our freestyle, our final project, our test after all those concerts and a gift to everyone who wants to remember it back with us.” – Julian Knoth

Live in Europe is chippy, loud, rebellious. Attitude is expressed here, annoyance, frustration, escape from reality, anger, outburst. And love? Yes, love too, somehow. It’s uncomfortable, unruly, intense, bitter, special and will not only please friends of Mission Of Burma, Wipers, Bauhaus, Swans, Abwärts, Sonic Youth, Fehlfarben, early Blumfeld, Helmet or Mudhoney. Strictly limited to 3000 copies!
